Mo Niknafs
Transition Digital Secretariat Lead
Mo works on creating initiatives that build the missing institutional and technical infrastructure required to scale climate solutions.
Some of this recent work includes:
Conceived and co-founded Mark1 to bridge the commercialisation gap for first-of-a-kind industrial climate technologies. Established a joint venture with RMI, secured $1.5M from Builders Vision, and built an ecosystem of EPCs, capital providers, and insurers.
Strategic initiative for a major energy company to accelerate electricity transmission buildout, deconstructing systemic bottlenecks in tens of billions of infrastructure investment and developing technical solutions to those problems.
Developed additionality assessment methodology for one of the world's largest science-led climate philanthropies (>$300M annual commitments) to identify the most catalytic, underfunded interventions.
Earlier, Mo was part of the founding team of LabGenius, which harnesses AI to develop protein therapeutics and has raised over $75M to date.
Mo holds an MEng in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College London.
In his spare time, Mo enjoys boxing, playing the guitar and tidying.
